WALTHAM, MA -- The MPS Boston Renegades further strengthened their squad this week with the news that three players from Texas A&M University have joined ranks for the 2008 season.

Ashlee Pistorius, Allison Martino and Laura Grace Robinson were all members of the Aggies women’s soccer side which reached the 2007 NCAA 2nd round and will join the Renegades for Head Coaches Darren Gallagher and Mark McDevitt’s first full season in charge.

The honor was based on the results of national balloting among 1,000 NCAA member schools as part of the Collegiate Women Sports Awards program, now in its 32nd year.

"To sign three players from such a prestigious program as Texas A&M is a massive boost for the MPS Boston Renegades," said Head Coach Darren Gallagher. "The fact that the National Player of the Year is heading to MPS is fantastic news for the club as well as women’s soccer fans in the Boston area."

Pistorius joins the Renegades after collecting an endless host of accolades during her four year collegiate career. As well as the National Player of the Year award, the striker also garnered NSCAA All-America honors as she led the nation in scoring at the Division I level in 2007.

"Ashlee is a phenomenal talent and we are absolutely ecstatic that she has joined us for the 2008 season," said Head Coach Darren Gallagher. "She comes to us with a huge reputation and she has all the assets to be one of the leading players in W-League this season."

Joining Pistorius is fellow 2007 Big XII First Team All Conference member Allison Martino. The Utah native registered three goals and seven assists during a productive 2007 season.

"Allison is a fantastic talent and to be named All Conference in the high profile Big XII is testament to her ability," said Head Coach Mark McDevitt. "She possess the qualities to both score and manufacture goals and we are very excited about the potential she brings to our squad."

Rounding out the trio is midfielder Laura Grace Robinson who joins the Renegades with the reputation of being one of top players in the Big XII.

"Laura has established herself as one of the most technically sound players in the Texas A&M squad," said Gallagher. "Her ability both on the ground and in the air is fantastic and we expect her to bring these attributes to the W-League this season."

Pistorius, Martino and Robinson will make their debuts as the MPS Boston Renegades kick off their 2008 W-League campaign with a highly anticipated home opener against Jersey Sky Blue at Bowditch Stadium, Saturday 10th May.
