WALTHAM, MA -- The MPS Boston Renegades received a massive boost this week with the news that Lauren MacIver, Kelsey Hood, Jamie Craft and Jasmine Phillips will each return for the 2008 season.

MacIver, Hood, Craft and Phillips each played a pivotal role in the Renegades side which finished the 2007 season with a 7-7-0 record as the team narrowly missed out on a playoff berth. The four players will return for Darren Gallagher and Mark McDevitt's first full season as Head Coaches of the club.

MacIver was a team leader in goals and minutes in 2007 "We are delighted that all four players have committed to come back to the Renegades for what is shaping up to be a very exciting season," said Darren Gallagher. "Lauren, Kelsey, Jamie and Jasmine were the backbone of our side in the second part of the season and Mark and I were very eager to see them return in 2008."

Oklahoma native and 2007 captain Lauren MacIver finished last term with five goals in Renegades colors. Her creativity and attacking play will be a huge factor in the success of the Renegades in 2008.

"Lauren had an excellent finish to the 2007 season," said Gallagher. "Her goal scoring ability from midfield is a key asset of hers and we will rely upon her again to make things happen in the attacking third of the field in 2008."

Kelsey Hood comes back to Boston after an outstanding 2007 collegiate season at the University of Minnesota. Hood was named All Big-Ten Second Team while also garnering All Great Lakes Regional honors.

"Kelsey has had another fantastic season at the collegiate level," said Mark McDevitt. "She proved last year she has the ability to be one of the top midfielders in the W-League and we will look for that quality again in 2008."

Jamie Craft established herself as one of the leading forwards in the W-League in 2007. With five goals and three assists, Craft finished the season as one of the on form players in the side.

"Jamie brings a wealth of experience to the team and with that comes an outstanding eye for goal," said Gallagher. "She has proven to be a defenders nightmare at both the collegiate and W-League level and we are delighted that she has committed to return to the club."

Completing the quartet of returning players is the Renegades 2007 MVP Jasmine Phillips. The goalkeeper from the University of Maine had an outstanding W-League season last term and Gallagher is delighted to acquire her services again in 2008.

"Asking Jasmine to return was a no-brainer," said McDevitt. "She lead by example in 2007 and thoroughly deserved her MVP honors. She will undoubtedly be a key figure again in 2008."
The 2008 MPS Boston Renegades will kick off their W-League campaign with a highly anticipated home opener against Jersey Sky Blue at Bowditch Stadium, Saturday 10th May. MacIver, Hood,
Craft and Phillips will make their return in the 4.00pm kick off.
