WOODBRIDGE, VA -- The Northern Virginia Majestics eagerly announced today that Jac Cicala will resume his role as head coach for a third consecutive season. Also named to the 2008 Northern Virginia W-League coaching staff were Tom Torres, Remy DuCote, and Sean Burke.

Cicala returns to the Majestics following a 7-6-1 season and two consecutive playoff appearances for the club. Cicala came to the Majestics in 2006 after a brilliant career as the head coach for George Mason University Women’s Soccer. The 2002 co-Coach of the Year in the CAA, Cicala posted his 100th career victory in the 2000 season opener and he became Mason’s all-time leader in women’s coaching victories in 2002. He boasts a collegiate career mark of 130-87-16 for a .592 winning percentage.

Joining Cicala on the sidelines this summer will be assistant coaches Tom Torres and Remy DuCote. Torres, the boys head coach at Westfield High School in Centreville, Virginia, assumes the role of goalkeeper coach. Recently, Torres led the U14 Northern Virginia Royals to the title match in the North American Super Y-League finals. DuCote, also the Director of Player Development for the club, returns for a fourth season with the Majestics.

Sean Burke takes the reins of the Northern Virginia Majestics Super 20 team for the upcoming season. Burke also serves as the head coach for 2007 Virginia state champion Jefferson High School boys soccer team. The Super 20 and W-League teams will share training opportunities together during the summer months.

The Northern Virginia Majestics face a challenging schedule of opponents in the Northeast Division in the upcoming season, include the 2007 W-League Champion Washington Freedom and historical powerhouse Boston Renegades. The Majestics kick off their home season Saturday, June 7th against the expansion Connecticut FC.
