KALAMAZOO, MI -- The TKO Premier Soccer Club, the yet to be named new Kalamazoo, Michigan-based PDL and W-League club beginning in 2008, has named Tony DiTucci as head coach of its W-League team.
DiTucci is in his fourth year as the head coach of the Central Michigan University women’s soccer program. During DiTucci’s first two seasons at the helm, the Chippewas advanced to the semifinals of the MAC Tournament each year, including playing in the championship game in 2004. They fell last fall 5-4 in double overtime in the Quarterfinals.
With a roster of just 17 players during both semifinal seasons, the Chippewas set program records for the most shutouts earned in a season (eight) and the longest unbeaten streak in program history in 2004 (seven games, 5-0-2 record, including six consecutive shutouts). In addition, the Chippewas went undefeated at home in MAC play in 2004 (5-0-1), allowing just a single goal in those six matches. Overall, DiTucci has found a great deal of success on home turf, losing just one match in two years against conference opponents.
A native of Rochester, New York, DiTucci graduated from Saint John Fisher College summa cum laude with a bachelor’s degree in economics and political science in 1996. DiTucci holds an Advanced National coaching diploma from the NSCAA as well as a USSF C license.
He is also a member of both the National Soccer Coaches Association of America and the United States Soccer Federation. This team will begin play in the summer of 2008.
TKO Premier Soccer Club is in the final stages of selecting a coach for its PDL franchise.
