 Bio:
Shelley Lyle, a Lady Eagles’ veteran returns for another year.  Her leadership in the back contributes stability and vision to the team.  She will do her best to help lead the 2012 squad deep into the post season.

2007:  Southeastern Conference All-Tournament selection…Top Drawer Soccer Team of the Season honorable mention selection...Named to SoccerBuzz.com Elite Team of the Week on Nov. 13…Started every match, making nine starts at midfield and the last 15 at center back…Second among the Gators with 2,217 minutes, averaging more than 88 minutes per match…Played 21 complete matches…Successfully converted her penalty kick attempt in NCAA Second Round action versus UCF…Named to TopDrawer Soccer’s National Team of the Week on Oct. 22…Assisted on KeLeigh Hudson’s game-winning goal versus then No. 9 Florida State…One of Florida’s four captains and started every match…Named to the SEC Good Works team…Member of 2007 SEC Academic Honor Roll.

2006: Started 24 matches, ranking fourth among Gator field players with 2,096 minutes played…Averaged more than 87 minutes per match as a junior…Played 11 complete matches…Voted a tri-captain by her teammates…Made 20 starts at midfield, but started last four matches of regular season at center back…Assisted on Stacy Bishop’s goal in the 3-2 NCAA Round of 16 loss against UCLA…Assisted on UF’s final goal versus Georgia in the Southeastern Conference Tournament opening round…Named to SEC Good Works team…Member of 2006 SEC Academic Honor Roll…Enrolled at the University of Florida in January of 2006 after playing her freshman and sophomore seasons at Virginia Commonwealth University.

Prior to Florida: Named to Colonial Athletic Association (CAA) All-Rookie team in 2004 after starting every match for VCU, posting seven goals and an assist…Named to 2004 CAA All-Tournament team and Soccer America Team of the Week after scoring two goals, including the game-winner, in conference tournament championship win against William & Mary…Turned in eight points (one goal, seven assists) in 2005…Started every match played during Virginia Commonwealth’s 2004 and 2005 seasons.

High School: A four-time first-team all-conference selection during prep career for The Cambridge School…Led Hillsborough County in scoring as a sophomore…Selected for 2004 Hillsborough County All-Star team…2004 Florida Sports Writers Association 2A All-State Honorable Mention selection.
