PACIFIC PALISADES, CA -- The Pali Blues Soccer Club increased their regular season record to 3-0-0 after defeating the Ventura County Fusion (0-3-1) in a hard-fought 3-1 victory on Saturday night.
After a scoreless first half, the Blues put forth a three goal effort in the second half to secure the win.
Blues defender Kara Kabellis put up the first tally of the contest in the 61st minute when she finished a feed from forward Ilaria Pasqui.
Forward Danesha Adams gave the Blues a two-goal cushion in the 74th minute when she scored a ball from midfielder Jill Oakes.
Oakes then dished a pass to forward Liz Bogus in the 77th minutes to give the home team a 3-0 advantage. That goal marked the 12th straight goal for the Blues to open their inaugural W-League season.
Blues goalkeeper Valerie Henderson was nearly perfect in net with the only Fusion goal coming after the 90th minute. The Jamie Bell score was the first goal that the Blues have given up in three contests.
