TAMPA, FL – United Soccer Leagues announced Wednesday its USL Premier Development League and W-League Teams of the Week for the 10th week of the season, honoring Raleigh’s Will Guadarrama and Hamilton’s Heather MacDougall as the Players of the Week, respectively.

Coming off a shutout loss to Augusta, the Raleigh Elite exploded with offense this week with a 5-2 win over the West Virginia Chaos and a 3-3 draw against the Nashville Metros in which Will Guadarrama recorded a pair of hat-tricks as well as two assists.

Raleigh opened the week Wednesday against the Mid Atlantic’s second-place Chaos and Guadarrama got to work right away, setting up Bobby Hoak four minutes in for the opening tally. He would give the Elite a 4-0 lead with a goal of his own in the 36th followed by another assist to Santiago Fus two minutes later and his second goal just a minute after that for five points in just a three minute span. The visitors got on the board five minutes in the second half to create some hope before Guadarrama completed the hat-trick in the 64th.

It was a completely different story Saturday in Nashville as the Metros took an early commanding 3-0 lead 21 minutes in behind a pair of goals from Drew Ducker. Guadarrama took over five minutes before the break though and cut the lead to two going into halftime. He tallied his second of the game in the 79th and netted the equalizer in the 90th to earn the draw.

The expansion Hamilton Avalanche have roared back from dropping their first three games of the season to an even 4-4-1 record, marking the occasion Sunday with an impressive 2-0 victory over the three-time semifinalist Ottawa Fury, who won the first meeting between the two 5-0.

With a game in a scoreless stalemate late in the second half, forward Heather MacDougall entered the match 23 minutes from time and proved the difference, scoring in the 85th minute to give Hamilton the lead. She added another in stoppage time to secure the victory in a match they were outshot 14-8 as goalkeeper Stacey Van Boxmeer posted nine saves in a shutout to follow her 78 shutout minutes in a 1-1 draw against unbeaten Laval the night before.
