CHARLOTTE, N.C. -
The Charlotte Lady Eagles have found some momentum lately, winning their past three contests, and have no plans of slowing down. Saturday the Lady Eagles will host the Dayton Dutch Lions with the top spot in the Southeastern Conference within reach.

The team is excited and eager to play on its home field at Queens Sports Complex again.

"It is a good opportunity for us to pick up another three points; we have been improving as a team every day," Veteran Amanda Naeher said.  "We are excited to play in front of our home crowd and we had a great turnout the first game. We love the energy our fans give us at home!"

Relentless determination fueled this year's young team to yet another comeback victory this past weekend. After being down 1-0 against VSI Tampa Bay FC after 14 minutes, the Lady Eagles received a goal from Leah Fortune in the 45th minute to even the score. Less then 10 minutes into the second half Macky Wingo placed a shot far post to give the Lady Eagles the lead, and Alex Brandt finished the game off with a goal in the 70th minute to produce a 3-1 final.

For her efforts in the game, Fortune was named to the W-League Team of the Week.

The Lady Eagles now stand at nine points after five games and look to remain undefeated at home. Dayton enters the game following a 2-1 win against VSI Tampa Bay FC on June 8. Forwards Julianna Libertin and Emilie Fillion scored the goals for the Lions. This is the second of three meetings between the two teams with the Eagles hosting a third matchup later in July.
