BOYDS, Md. – The Washington Spirit will a host their second and final winter tryout for the 2013 USL W-League and Super-20 League teams Saturday, January 12 at the Maryland Soccerplex in Boyds, Maryland. Tryouts are slated to run from 8-10 a.m. on Soccerplex Field #20. Players must register in order to participate in trials.
With the addition of a professional team for 2013, the W-League squad will become a primary proving ground for players to prove themselves capable of deserving a shot at the pros. The W-League team will carry the name “Washington Spirit Reserves” and will train frequently alongside the professional team. The Super-20 League team will serve the region’s top college-bound and active college players who still have several years left before graduation from the college game.
Interested players must complete the online tryout registration form along with one-time $50 registration fee in order to be eligible to participate. Previously registered players are not to pay registration fee a second time.
Players are encouraged to arrive 30 minutes prior for check-in, warm-up, and stretching. Maryland Soccerplex Field #20 is a synthetic turf field, so players should insure they bring proper footwear to the trials.
