Ali Riley is enjoying quite a debut season in Women’s Professional Soccer and now her rookie campaign will extend into the playoffs.
The Pacific Palisades resident and former Pali Blues and Stanford University star was picked 10th in the first-round of the 2010 WPS Draft by FC Gold Pride, the league’s Bay Area franchise. Riley has started 17 of the team’s 18 games and, as a rookie, ranks third in minutes played. More importantly, thanks to her steady play at left fullback the Gold Pride have clinched their first-ever postseason berth and are one point away from securing home field advantage.
