ATLANTA, GA – The Atlanta Silverbacks will be hosting the Eastern Conference semifinals and Eastern Conference championship of the 2010 W-League playoffs this upcoming Friday, July 23rd and Saturday, July 24th.

The conference semifinals will be held on Friday at 5:30PM and 7:30PM. The early game will feature the Washington Freedom Futures (10-1-1) and the Charlotte Lady Eagles (5-3-2). Meanwhile, the later game will have the host Atlanta Silverbacks (7-2-1) taking on the New Jersey Wildcats (7-4-1). One ticket will be valid for both games of the doubleheader on Friday.

The conference championship will be held on Saturday at 7:30 PM with the winning teams advancing.

There are 12 teams that have qualified for the 2010 playoffs. Of the field, the Hudson Valley Quickstrike Lady Blues earned an automatic berth to the Final Four due to their record in the regular season.

Atlanta’s matchup against New Jersey is an intriguing one – despite starting the year 4-1-1, the Wildcats are just 3-3-0 since then. While both Atlanta and New Jersey have netted 22 goals on the year, the Wildcats have given up 16, while Atlanta has only conceded 7.

Key for the Silverbacks will be to stop talented forwards Jessica Fuccello and Kylee Rossi, who have combined to score 11 goals and 7 assists, accounting for over 80% of New Jersey’s goals.
