As many of you may have noticed in the past week, we at USL have been a lot more active on our previously established social media homes at Facebook and Twitter. Well, that is just the tip of the iceberg of our upcoming efforts to help Grow the Game in North America.
With this note today, we are also unveiling our new Free Kicks blog here at USLsoccer.com, providing a behind the scenes look into United Soccer Leagues and more opinionated editorial content such as our current ongoing Top Players of the Decade series for USL-1 and USL-2. Be sure to check out Free Kicks for regular updates straight from league directors and USL executives.
USL has long been committed to growing the game in the United States, Canada and the Caribbean, serving as a pioneer in opportunities and development for players, coaches, administrators and referees – and there is no reason that shouldn’t also extend to our fans in the bleachers every Saturday night... especially those loyal followers attending a Wednesday night US Open Cup match on a week’s notice.
USL teams and players are well known for their interaction with fans and we are taking that same philosophy forward into our new efforts to grow the game. Fans will have direct interactive access with USL through the Free Kicks blog and our expanding platforms at Facebook and Twitter.
It is our hope that all of our fans and those involved in the game at every level from within our vertically-integrated structure will become regular contributors in USL’s efforts to grow the game through these avenues, sharing their news, feedback and ideas as well as spreading the excitement and passion for the game to their family, friends and followers.
