CHARLOTTE, NC - The Charlotte Lady Eagles, a ten year member of the USL W-League, are excited to announce that the team will be including an international tour during the 2010 campaign. The ladies will be in Santiago, Chile from May 24 through June 2, 2010. The tour lies during a break in the Lady Eagles season between games in Hampton Roads on May 22 and in Tampa on June 4 and 5.

In keeping with the mission of the Charlotte Eagles Soccer Club, this trip is intended to be much more than a high level playing experience. Besides playing competitive matches against local women’s professional clubs the team will run clinics, build relationships and train Chilean coaches and church leaders to use the game of soccer as a platform to share the good news of Jesus Christ with young people.

The Lady Eagles are traveling at the invitation of the Baptist Church in Chile and hope to develop relationships with Chilean soccer clubs and local schools.

While this is the Lady Eagles’ inaugural trip to Chile, it certainly is not the first time they have ventured overseas. Previous team tours include Thailand and Singapore in 2004, Brazil in 2007 and Ethiopia in 2008.
