TAMPA, FL – United Soccer Leagues announced the schedule for the W-League Conference Championship Playoffs, which will be preceded by a First Round divisional match Wednesday between Quebec City Amiral and the Buffalo Flash. The conference tournaments will be held Friday through Sunday in three locations.
The Great Lakes divisional match-up between the second and third seeds will be held at Orchard Park with the two first-year clubs squaring off at 7:00 pm ET Wednesday night.
The action resumes Friday evening in Atlanta and Indiana with the Eastern and Central Conference Semifinals, respectively.
In the Eastern Conference, the Atlanta Silverbacks will play host to the Washington Freedom, Tampa Bay Hellenic and their semifinal opponent Charlotte Lady Eagles, who were named as a replacement for the Boston Renegades, who were the original qualifier for the berth out of the Northeast following Hudson Valley clinching the regular season title and league semifinal berth. Having finished third in the Mid Atlantic, Charlotte was in position to have earned the spot had Atlanta finished number one overall. The Conference Final will be held Saturday.
The Central Conference playoffs will see the First Round divisional match winner face the host FC Indiana Lionesses while the Ottawa Fury and Chicago Red Eleven square off in the other semifinal. The Conference Final is set for Sunday.
The Western Conference Championship is scheduled for Saturday, featuring the defending league champion Pali Blues hosting the Colorado Force, who are making their first playoff appearance since winning the W-2 League championship in 1998.
