Four W-Leaguers in NCAA top 10
Kay Harbrueger, Lauren Hill, Marcy Gans and Kayla Lambert over 22 points already this season

TAMPA, FL – Led by Atlanta Silverbacks forward Kay Harbrueger, who has netted 12 goals and added five assists for Georgia State this fall – four players that honed their skills in the W-League this past season are among the top 10 in points scored in NCAA Division I. Harbrueger struck two goals this season for the Silverbacks in 12 matches (171 minutes).

On the opposite end of the field, Wake Forest University goalkeeper Laura Morse, who is currently second in NCAA Division I with a goals against average of 0.169, played three matches this season for the Carolina Dynamo. In those three matches Morse allowed five goals while facing 34 shots. She made 23 saves and ended the season with a goals against average of 1.66.

While Morse was the lone W-League goalkeeper in the top five in goals against average, she managed to share the summertime pitch with Dynamo teammate Hailey Beam, who is tied with four other players for 10th in NCAA Division I points. So far this fall, Beam has scored eight times and added six assists. Over the summer Beam was the Dynamo’s leading goal-scorer. She finished the season with eight goals and three assists in 12 matches (1069 minutes played).

Following Harbrueger down Soccer America’s list, Michigan Hawks forward Lauren Hill has found the back of the net nine times this fall for Michigan State. She also added five assists to bump her into a three-way tie for seventh on the list with 23 points. Hill collected the majority of her W-League minutes during the 2007 season in which she scored eight goals and three assists in 11 games (990 minutes). In 2008 Hill took a reprieve. She played just one match this season, coming off in the 75th minute.

One of the players tied for seventh on the list is Marcy Gans. Playing fall ball with Creighton, Gans has netted 10 goals and added three assists. She started this summer for the W-League’s Boston Renegades, scoring one goal and one assist in 13 games (373 minutes).
